What a great way to honor a family members’ life, that inspirational teacher, a major milestone or the life of a special someone…..plant a tree that will continue to grow and flourish and represent all of these!!!
The Outdoor Education Committee (OEC) established the Memorial Tree Garden at the Primary and Intermediate Schools in 2005 and would like to continue this great tradition.
The OEC is a committee of Primary and Intermediate School teachers dedicated to creating an outdoor hands-on learning environment for students. The committee actively engages outside agencies to work in collaboration with the schools, as well as pursues additional funding through grant writing and other fundraisers.
Garden Girls, Inc., a local landscape company, has made available a selection of native trees for the area. These trees will be planted on the Elementary Schools Campus. The cost of each tree is $250. The price includes the planting of the tree, care and a plaque. The permanent plaque will state the species of the tree, the date, and the name of the person, family, group or event that is being honored.
If you are interested in placing an order for such a wonderful gift, please fill out the attached form and return to the Primary Building in care of Lee Dean by Friday, April 22, 2011. Please make checks payable to Crestwood Primary PTO (Outdoor Education Committee in memo line).
