Welcome to my Web Page! I am Ms. Lesa Reed and I am currently teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Math Lab and Reading Lab. These are 9 week courses designed to improve students' basic skills and reinforce current classroom skills through computer programs, traditional classroom activities, and games.
I earned my Bacheor's Degree from Kent State University and my Master's Degree from Marygrove College. I have been teaching at Crestwood Middle School for many years and have worn many teaching hats including 7th grade Social Studies. I have been involved with volleyball since my start at Crestwood and currently coach the 8th grade interscholastic team along with 5th and 6th grade clinics.
Math and Reading Labs are provided for the purposes of OAA improvement and classroom skill improvement. Each day we use a variety of traditional classroom materials along with several different computer programs to aide in the improvement of specific skills, AND to help with perseverance through longer reading passages, extended response questions, and multi-step math problems.
Students in my classes earn class "money" for their hard work. This "money" can be used to "buy" items like pencils, apples, and computer time. There is also a Levels and Rewards System in my classroom where the entire class is rewarded for their overall behavior each week.
